La naturopathie, qu’est-ce que c’est?

La naturopathie est une discipline qui vient du latin: Natura (=nature) et Pathos (=la maladie, ce que l’on ressent). C’est à la fois une philosophie, l’art et la science de maintenir l’individu en bonne santé par des moyens naturels tels que l’alimentation, la nutrithérapie, l’aromathérapie, l’oligothérapie, la phytothérapie, l’hydrothérapie, la réflexologie plantaire et la gestion du stress.
Considérée comme étant une médecine naturelle, parallèle ou encore non conventionnelle; ses grands principes de sont:

  • « Prévenir plutôt que guérir »
  • Le causalisme (=inverse d’une médecine traditionnelle ou symptomatique). Ici on ne cherche pas directement à éliminer les symptômes (tels que des douleurs physiques, des troubles cutanés, intestinaux, psychiques ou psychologiques) mais plutôt à aller chercher la ou les cause(s) de ce(s) symptôme(s) et à le(s) résoudre de manière naturelle.
  • La prise en charge du patient dans sa globalité (alimentation, mode de vie, passe-temps, antécédents familiaux, médicaux, les éventuels traumatismes psychologiques…)
  • Une considération de la maladie comme une conséquence inévitable et positive de la vie. Plus une maladie ou un symptôme sera violent plus il sera signe d’un bon vitalisme, c’est à dire que votre corps est en train de mettre tout en œuvre afin d’éliminer au plus vite une infection par exemple.
  • Apprendre aux patients à gérer sa santé en lui faisant prendre conscience des erreurs qui l’ont conduites vers la maladie, à corriger son mode de vie en fonction de lui, de ses besoins à l’instant T.
